I had a great time here, if you take the time to walk around and check out everything it easily turns into a few hours, I didn't think I would be there that long. Everything is nicely set up and taken care of.
Absolutely wonderful and fascinating. It is LIVING HISTORY. The buildings are still the same from when they were first built except for renovations etc. I came here in the 3rd grade and still visit for the time travel feel. I love their gift shop. SO many wonderful trinkets and wooden toys. I used to churn butter here, dance in the gazebos, and feel at peace in the woods. The people here are so nice. You HAVE to go here for the best experience in the world. You feel like you've taken a step back into a much more peaceful world. I love learning so much here! This is the FLORIDA for locals.
Run entirely by volunteers from the community, this is an amazing and fun way to learn more about the history and culture of the area, and have a little fun as well! Admission is free, although donations are certainly welcome. Christmas is probably the best time to visit, as they go all out with the decorations, but any time of the year they have tours with interesting tidbits of information, and a gift shop with inexpensive little treasures. So glad I made the time to stop by!
This is absolutely a fascinating experience and for those of you that have children and even for us adults it's a very good learning experience as well very informative very beautiful I can't say enough kind words about this place , me and my family have been there several times and have enjoyed it immensely , Thank you to all your volunteers that donate your time and giving the tours , everyone who works there is so informative on the tours and in the houses that you tour they give you so much information and explain all about the history of the buildings & the land it's absolutely amazing I would tell everyone this is a must see , and the experience is amazing especially if you're interested in history of Florida. I promise you won't be disappointed. Thank to all of you heritage Village employees and volunteers you're absolutely awesome !!!
Again Heritage Village provided interest and delight for my grandchildren. The wonders of the way of life in yesteryear never fails to produce very interesting questions even from a 4.5 year old. The new museum display from the estate of Mrs Turner was so elegant and amazing. Tell the kids to leave phones at home open their eyes and take a step back in time. PS do not forget the gift shop!
